Forty Under 40: Jonell Sabbe
Jonell Sabbe says traveling is her favorite hobby, but the best trip she’s taken may have been the one where she returned to Northwest Arkansas.
Sabbe, 33, lived out of state for a while before returning to the area as a clinical pharmacist for AHEC. She is also an assistant professor of the Northwest Arkansas Family Practice Residency Program, operating out of the Northwest Family Medical Center in the Jones Clinic building in Springdale.
A graduate of Fayetteville High School and later the University of Arkansas and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Sabbe’s primary responsibility is educating medical residents on drug therapy. There are 27 medical residents in the residency program in Springdale.
“It’s a teaching institution,” Sabbe said. “We take pharmacy students from UALR and spend a month with them. I like the teaching aspect of it. It’s continual learning. I learn every day. It’s a position in which you have to keep updated. I also love assisting in the health care of patients.”
Sabbe also has clinical responsibilities and provides patient education.
