Johnny Mike and Debbie Walker on Sept. 19 got a loan of $1.6 million from Arvest Springdale Bank & Trust to purchase land and buildings off Sunbridge Road in Fayetteville for future additions to The New School.
The New School, celebrating its 30th anniversary, has 324 students ranging from 2-year-olds to fifth graders. About 50 students are on a waiting list.
Debbie Walker said future additions, which are in the master planning stage, are necessary for the school to expand in numbers and quality.
The land adjoins the current location of The New School. The recently purchased acreage includes a house and an office building.
Walker said the school would most likely begin capital campaigning for the new addition next year.
