Jeffrey Dunn, president and CEO of Bank of Arkansas in Fayetteville, said Craig Shy has contributed to the institution’s growth by “expanding existing relationships and developing new ones.”

But Shy, in his fourth year with the bank, is not just a senior vice president of commercial lending with a personal loan portfolio of more than $30 million. He’s also a very active community leader.

His after-hours activities include serving as secretary of Fayetteville’s Northside Rotary Club, chairing the education committee for the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, serving on the Leadership Fayetteville committee directing in-kind Services for the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar.

A native of Joplin, Mo., Dunn in 1989 received his bachelor of science degree in finance and banking from the University of Arkansas. He then spent seven years doing commercial lending in Kansas City, Mo., including three at First National Bank of Kansas.

Shy, 33, has been with Bank of Arkansas since May of 1997.

His duties include general management of commercial clients, treasury service work, cash management, retirement planning and the coordination of some cafeteria-style group health insurance plans.
