Hunting in France

Traipsing across the French countryside this past June, Renée Hunt was sort of a roving yard-saler, sniffing out bargains like a pig uprooting truffles.
She returned to Fayetteville with a load of French antiques, including two large century-old items – a buffet from Brittany (for $975) and a grape-harvesting basket ($500).
Hunt was in France on a buying spree to stock her new shop, French Quarters, which she owns with Chris Bronson. French Quarters is located in the same building at 17 N. Block Ave. in Fayetteville as Feather Your Nest, a home decor shop that Bronson, an interior decorator, has owned for several years.
Hunt says Bronson’s keen eye for antiques and Hunt’s ability to speak fluent French made an exceptional combination during the buying trip.
“We’re two different women with two different talents,” Hunt says.
Hunt, who has taught French for the past 21 years, is looking forward to more buying trips.
