Bank of Fayetteville and First National Bank and Trust Co. of Rogers are among the latest to begin work on new branches in 1999.
Bank of Fayetteville’s branch is at 1560 S. School St., in a spot previously occupied by McIlroy Bank & Trust. When construction is complete, however, it won’t be recognizable as the old building. Ken Shireman designed the branch and May Construction Co. is doing the work.
First National Bank and architect Gary Jackson formed a limited liability corporation and are building a three-story building at Village on the Creeks. The bank will occupy the first floor as well as most of the second with about 25 employees while Jackson’s firm will occupy the third floor. For First National, the building will become a full-service bank. It’s expected to be completed by December.
