Bev Lewis, a coach and administrator at the University of Arkansas for more than three decades, said she will retire in June.

According to the UA, Lewis was the UA women’s athletics director from 1989 to 2007. She spent the last six years as associate vice chancellor and executive associate athletic director.

“I will always treasure the opportunity to help coaches and student-athletes achieve their dreams and I will always be a Razorback,” Lewis said in a UA news release. “My husband, Harley, retired three years ago and I am looking forward to spending time with him at our home on the White River near Mountain Home and summers in Michigan where I grew up.”

Lewis was a member of the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s inaugural Forty Under 40 class in 1997.

In an interview with the Business Journal in November 2011, Lewis described her role as one of the few holdovers since UA athletic director Jeff Long merged the men’s and women’s departments in 2007.
