Arkansas’s Champion Trees: An Artist’s Journey

The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks will host "Arkansas's Champion Trees: An Artist's Journey" mini exhibit from January 18 through February 9, daily from 9:00 to 5:00. The exhibit features 4 colored pencil panels by Hot Springs artist Linda Williams Palmer with accompanying information, including the sugar maple from the Confederate Cemetery in Fayetteville and the cottonwood in Van Buren, as well as two other state champions. Arkansas's champion trees are designated by the Arkansas Forestry Commission based on their height, circumference and spread. The exhibit is part of a larger exhibit of champion trees that will be traveling the state for 2 years. The Botanical Garden is located at 4703 N. Crossover Rd., Fayetteville, AR. Admission to the exhibit is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children ages 5-12. BGO members are admitted free and there is a discount for groups.
