J.B. Hunt Transport Services earns designation as Military Friendly employer
For the 10th consecutive year, Lowell-based carrier J.B. Hunt Transport Services has been named a top Military Friendly employer by G.I. Jobs, a publication of Victory Media helping military veterans transition back to civilian life. J.B. Hunt was eighth out of companies with annual revenue of more than $1 billion, according to a news release.
“Veterans are the cornerstone of J.B. Hunt’s employee base, and we take great pride in knowing these dedicated and skilled individuals are part of our company,” John Roberts, president and CEO of J.B. Hunt, said in the release. “We are forever grateful for their service and are honored to call them members of our family.”
The top-ranked Military Friendly employer was Marsh & McLennan Cos., a professional services firm offering “expertise in strategy, risk and people solutions,” according to a news release.
“All our Military Friendly award recipients set the standard for excellence,” Daniel Nichols, chief product officer of Victory Media and head of Military Friendly development, said in the release. “They offer exceptional examples of what it means not just to build a program that meets federal requirements, but one that serves the military and veteran community from classrooms to careers.”
More than 200 companies and 1,200 post-secondary schools received Military Friendly designations, based on the survey they completed.
Available awards include top 10, gold, silver and bronze. Companies were segmented into categories by annual revenue, including those with more than $1 billion in annual revenue, between $1 billion and $500 million and less than $500 million. Government and nonprofits and schools were also ranked.
