Arkansas Best to Report 4th-Quarter Earnings

Arkansas Best Corp., based in Fort Smith, will report its fourth-quarter 2011 earnings before the stock markets open on Jan. 27.

Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters are forecasting earnings of 25 cents per share for the quarter. The company lost 12 cents per share in the fourth quarter of 2010.

The transportation holding company’s largest subsidiary is ABF Freight System Inc.

Shares of Arkansas Best were trading at $20.28 late Friday on the Nasdaq, up 40 cents or 2.01 percent. They’ve traded between $14.22 and $27.44 in the past year.
