Big rig sales slide nearly 29% in September
U.S. retail sales of big rigs and dump trucks fell nearly 29% in September, according to an Oct. 24 article in Transport Topics.
In September, Class 8 truck sales dipped to 14,968, from 20,972 a year ago. The class of trucks includes big rig tractors and dump trucks weighing more than 33,000 pounds.
Since the first of the year, sales have declined 21% to 149,472, from 189,541 in the same period last year.
Truck sales are expected to remain flat for 2017, the article shows.
