Comedian Eddie Izard tours Fort Smith National Historic Site
Comedian Eddie Izzard spent a little time learning about Fort Smith history Tuesday (Dec. 15) while on tour. Izzard performed at the ArcBest Performing Arts Center Tuesday evening, but earlier in the day posted photos to social media of time spent at the Fort Smith National Historic Site.
“Thanks to all the US Park Rangers at the Fort Smith National Historic Site. Go visit it! It covers a lot of history!” Izzard captioned one photo.
The British actor and comedian is best known for for his cross-dressing stand-up comedy routines. He’s had supporting roles in Hannibal, Ocean’s Thirteen, The Good Wife and voiced the villain in Disney Pixar’s Cars 2.
Izzard has been on an American leg of a world tour since Nov. 26, playing venues across the South. He plays in Athens, Georgia Thursday and Charleston, South Carolina Friday to wrap it up. Along the way, he’s been posting photos of cities he’s visited and historic sites in each place, including Alabama Freedom Riders markers.
