Huckabee Announces Fundraising, Campaign Schedule

The newest entrant to the GOP presidential field announced plans Wednesday to visit six states and the District of Columbia to kick off his presidential campaign.
In an email sent out Wednesday morning to reporters, former Gov. Mike Huckabee said he will make five stops in Arkansas during the month-long fundraising event.
The schedule starts May 11 with visits to Houston and Austin, followed by Dallas and Washington, DC on May 12.
Other trips include May 14 in Phoenix, May 20 to Memphis and Nashville, May 27 in Laguna Beach, Calif., and May 31 and June 1 in New York City.
The Arkansas stops include Jonesboro and Little Rock on June 3, El Dorado and Bentonville on June 4 and Texarkana on June 5.
The Jonesboro visit will start a busy week for the GOP in Northeast Arkansas. The Craighead County Republican Party is hosting its annual Lincoln Day dinner on June 6 at ASU Centennial Hall, with Sen. John Boozman serving as the keynote speaker.
Huckabee announced Tuesday during a rally in Hope that he will be seeking the Republican nod for President in 2016.
He joins Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky, Marco Rubio of Florida and Ted Cruz of Texas; as well as Dr. Ben Carson former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina in the Republican field so far.
Former Secretary of State and Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernard Sanders, I-Vt., are the only announced candidates in the Democratic field so far.
