Inventors Club Of Northeast Arkansas Meets Thursday

The Inventors Club of Northeast Arkansas will host its monthly meeting by hearing from an aeronautical engineer.

The meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at Wild Hog BBQ, located in the Highland Center strip mall at 2810 E Highland Dr., will feature Jim Melescue.

Melescue earned his Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.

He also has two Master’s degrees; one in Aerospace engineering, and the other in Environmental Engineering.

Located in Jonesboro, 3-D Precision Enterprises helps manufacture innovative ideas and produces a highly specialized prototype for the medical and aerospace industries.

Melescue often works with A-State professors to ensure high quality prototypes. His goal is to provide quality services to his customers so their ideas can come to life.

The schedule includes:

6:00-6:15 – Fellowship, eating and networking at Wild Hog BBQ

6:15-6:30 -Jim Melescue will give an update on 3D Printing and how to make prototypes of an invention.

6:30-6:45 – The club will discuss a specific invention and how to improve.

6:45-7:00 – Members and guests will break into four groups and come up with a new invention.

7:00-7:15 – Members will present their new ideas and the club will vote on the best idea

7:15-7:30 – Fellowship and networking

Those interested in joining the club are encouraged to attend the meeting. Dues are not required at their first meeting; however, attendees are responsible for paying for their own meal.

The Inventors Club of NE Arkansas was formed in 2014 as a cooperative effort by the A-State SBTDC and 3D Precision Enterprises, LLC to help inventors take their ideas from concept to commercialization.

Their resources include business consultants, CAD designers, engineers, manufacturers, patent attorneys and marketing groups.

The club is also building a network of experts to provide the capability inventors need to review, patent, design, manufacture, and market their ideas.
