NOARK – Local SHRM Chapter Meeting

The NWA Council and area Chambers of Commerce have interviewed over 1,000 area employers over the past two years, and the feedback they've gotten on the area's workforce didn't surprise them. They'd been hearing about labor shortages and skill deficiencies from employers – even through the depths of the great depression. but these facts were lost on the people responsible for producing their workforce. The winds of change are finally blowing though. Thanks to these interview and some of the data tools, the Council is gearing up to tackle the policy, curricula, and culture that have led us to this point. Mike Harvey, COO of the NWA Council, will join us to share his analysis and some of the work that the Council and it's Chamber partners are planning to address regarding this critical issues.
