NWA sales tax revenue dips again in February report

Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers, and Springdale cumulatively reported sales tax revenue of $10.862 million in their February reports, down 2.9% from the same month a year ago. The decline follows a 2.27% revenue dip reported in January.
Each city in the report is off to its weakest start in more than five years.
Rogers’ sales tax revenue totaled $3.087 million, down 1.33% from a year ago. For the first two months of this year, the city’s sales tax revenue totaled $5.688 million, down 3.15% from a year ago. Even with the sluggish start, the city is still ahead of the conservative budget set for the year.
Bentonville is off to a rougher start with respect to its sales tax revenue. February report revenue totaled $2.281 million, down 11.48% from a year ago. Through February, revenue totals $4.329 million, down 9.28% compared with the same period in 2025.
Springdale’s report showed revenue of $2.334 million, down 0.74%. In the first two months, revenue totaled $4.383 million, around $78,000 less than the same period in 2025.
Fayetteville was the only city in the report to have positive February revenue. The revenue was $3.16 million, up 0.96%. For the two months, Fayetteville reported revenue of $5.97 million, just slightly below the $5.977 million in the same period of 2025.
