A cross-specialty team of medical providers has opened a new critical care clinic in Fayetteville.

The Cleft and Craniofacial Center of NWA is now open at 3394 N. Futrall Drive. The center provides specialized care to individuals with head and neck abnormalities, including traumatic injuries, congenital disabilities, or any condition where reconstruction is necessary to provide a better quality of life.

Treatment can require multiple surgeries and ongoing care from specialists, including plastic surgeons, orthodontists, prosthodontists and speech pathologists.

Robert Taylor (plastic surgeon), Darrin Storms (orthodontist) and Torry Farnell (speech pathologist) are the founding partners. Additional specialists are brought in to assist the core team as needed.

“Until now, there simply just wasn’t a place in this area, or region for that matter, to provide the care these patients need right here, close to home,” Taylor said. Now, those with congenital and post-traumatic injuries of the face and head can seek state-of-the-art care from highly specialized local providers.

“I am beyond excited that the Cleft and Craniofacial Center of NWA will allow specialized providers in the area to fill this need and offer seamless care to patients in Northwest Arkansas.”

The center is accredited by the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association (ACPA). The ACPA is the leading interdisciplinary professional network for healthcare providers serving patients with cleft lip, cleft palate and craniofacial differences.
