LifeSource celebrates 10, going for more

FAYETTEVILLE — The LifeSource Birthday Bash drew several hundred people to the Fayetteville Town Center on Friday night (April 27) in celebration of the organization’s 10th anniversary of serving Northwest Arkansas.

The evening’s theme of a birthday bash was carried out in decorations that included decorated cupcakes on every table and a birthday cake, all done by Shelby Lynn’s Cake Shoppe. The stage and entrance were festooned with over-sized wrapped packages and colorful lights and fabric. Guests mingled to the music of Soulful Sounds before the birthday festivities got under way. Food was prepared by local caterer Kruton’s.
 
Ashley Ketz of KFSM-TV, Channel-5, emceed the event, and the keynote speaker was Jimmy Dykes, an ESPN sportscaster with many ties to the University of Arkansas and Northwest Arkansas. His message focused on the hard work and necessity of building and being strong leaders. Dykes said, “Half-hearted running wins no prize.” Fayetteville Mayor Lioneld Jordan also spoke to the crowd in appreciation of LifeSource’s contribution to the community and challenged guests to become more involved.
 
The event also included a live and silent auction with donations from a wide variety of local and regional businesses such as Kruton’s Catering, Handyman Matters, Kansas City Royals, Northwest Arkansas Naturals Naturals, Club Haus Fitness, Organic Valley, Houndstooth Clothing, Impressions, Golden Corral, Razors Edge, Bank of Fayetteville and many others.
 
LifeSource, founded by Ernie and Terry Conduff, provides a holistic approach to helping individuals and families in need throughout Northwest Arkansas. They offer a food and clothing pantry, senior services, an after-school tutoring and mentoring program, a summer camp, job readiness and life skills training, and counseling for individuals and families. They currently serve more than 1,400 families a month.
