Bentonville-based Oz Brands, a compilation of outdoor recreation and art initiatives, will give Austin, Texas, residents an opportunity to win one-way flights to Northwest Arkansas, according to a Wednesday (Oct. 20) news release.

Oz Brands, which comprises Oz Art, Oz Trails and Fly Oz, will give away one-way Allegiant Air tickets to Austin residents, “who need a break from the rapid overgrowth of the booming metro,” the release shows. “Why just one way? Because once visitors see the hidden gem of the Northwest Arkansas region, they won’t want to leave.”

The campaign, “One Way Out,” is for Austin residents “who feel like they are losing what made them fall in love with the city years ago,” according to the release. “Restaurant reservations are impossible to secure, trails are overpopulated, local attractions are swarming with tourists, housing is getting more expensive and bachelor and bachelorette parties have taken over downtown.”

The release noted “U.S. News & World Report” recently ranked Northwest Arkansas as the fourth best place to live in the United States, one spot ahead of Austin.

“Fall is the best time of year to enjoy NWA,” according to the release. “The Ozark Mountains offer a special and unmatched beauty for all fall foliage enthusiasts. The Ozarks are home to more than 480 miles of nature trails perfect for exploring the rivers, bluffs and hills on a hike, on a bike, or even from a plane.”

The flight giveaway is open for those who are at least 18 and live within a 50-mile radius of Austin. Winners must book travel within four months and complete the trip by May 1, 2022. Link here for the giveaway, which ends Oct. 29.

Asked how many one-way flights will be given away in the campaign, Krista Cupp, communications director for Bentonville-based Runway Group, said “we are starting by giving out 10 tickets.” Winners will be selected in the first week of November, she said.

Oz Brands are initiatives of Runway Group, a business team led by Steuart Walton and his younger brother, Tom Walton. They are grandsons of Walmart founder Sam Walton and the sons of Jim Walton, chairman and CEO of Arvest Bank Group Inc.
