California-based Relation Insurance acquires McGhee Insurance in Rogers

Walnut Creek, Calif.-based insurance brokerage Relation Insurance Services Inc. announced Wednesday (March 10) it has acquired the assets of Rogers-based The McKinney Group, doing business as McGhee Insurance Northwest Arkansas. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

McGhee Insurance serves personal and commercial clients in Northwest Arkansas. The company is led by Brandi McKinney, who will join Relation Insurance’s Central Region.

“We are excited to expand our Central Region into Arkansas,” said Russell Brown, chief revenue officer and president of Relation Insurance’s Central Region. “We believe the culture at McGhee aligns perfectly with Relation, and we have an excellent partner in Brandi McKinney to help drive growth throughout the region.”

Seven employees work at McGhee Insurance, and they are expected to remain on staff with Relation Insurance, said Timothy Hall, executive vice president and head of M&A for Relation Insurance.

The Rogers office, which will remain open, is Relation Insurance’s first location in Arkansas, and the company is “committed to growing the region,” Hall said.

McGhee Insurance will become McGhee Insurance NWA, a Relation company. Hall noted that rebrandings with partner agencies are completed over time, and Relation Insurance will work with the company to assess the brand needs over time.

Relation Insurance offers risk-management and benefits-consulting services through its family of brands across the United States. It has about 750 employees in more than 75 locations nationwide. Relation Insurance is a privately-held corporation backed by Aquiline Capital Partners, a private equity firm based in New York and London investing in businesses globally across financial services and technology.
