Central Research in Lowell acquires Skyline Ultd Inc.
Lowell-based Central Research Inc., (CRI) a provider of financial services and products for government and commercial sectors, announced Monday (June 8) the acquisition of Alexandria, Va.-based Skyline Ultd Inc., a professional services provider to federal, state and local agencies.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Skyline was founded in 2001 and provides staff augmentation and information technology services for government agencies, including the Intelligence Community, Department of Veterans Affairs, Army National Guard Bureau and the Department of Health and Human Services. The company has nine employees.
“We’re very excited to add the experienced staff and capabilities of Skyline to the CRI brand of companies,” said Bobby McKinnon, president of CRI. “Like us, they are focused on providing exceptional customer service and innovative solutions, tackling challenges and solving problems for their customers. Together, we’ll be able to leverage each other’s strengths and knowledge to continue growing and expanding our business operations.”
Skyline will continue to operate under its existing brand. However, the company’s headquarters will be relocated to CRI’s headquarters in Lowell. CRI is working to build a new office at Interstate 49 and Arkansas Highway 264 in Lowell and consolidate its existing offices in Springdale and Lowell into a proposed 50,000-square-foot, two-story building. It’s expected to be a part of a planned development that will include a mixture of office, retail and hotel properties on nearly 33 acres.
The Skyline deal is the second acquisition for CRI in the past 90 days as the company continues to find new opportunities to grow and expand its business offerings. In March, CRI purchased Augusta, Ga.-based Global Emergency Response, a software and technology services company that specializes in emergency technology systems.
CRI was founded in 2002 and employs more than 450 people throughout several locations in the United States, including a Washington, D.C., program office in Annandale.
