Mark Biggers named president of E.C. Barton and Co.
The board of directors of E.C. Barton and Co. has named Mark Biggers president of the Jonesboro-based building materials company.
Biggers is a 1998 graduate of Arkansas State University with a degree in accounting and began his career with Deloitte Accounting in Little Rock. He transitioned in the private manufacturing and distribution industry in 2002 where he has spent more than 17 years with what is now known as NBG Home, the parent company of Jimco Lamp. He served as corporate controller and vice president of finance and administration before being named president of the Home Décor Division of NBG Home in 2014.
As president, Biggers had oversight of 300-plus employees in multiple divisions and locations across the United States and overseas with sales of more than $300 million. He has been involved in numerous transactions with direct oversight of integrating two new acquisitions as well as leading the effort to set up office in China and Vietnam to support the U.S. business.
Biggers and his wife, Jennifer, have two sons. Biggers expects to assume his new role in June, said Neil Crowson, chairman of the board of E.C. Barton and Co.
Founded in 1885, E.C. Barton is headquartered in Jonesboro and operates Barton’s Lumber, Grossman’s Bargain Outlet, Barton’s Home Improvement and E.C.B. Brokerage in 17 states from upstate New York to south Texas.
Within the last year, Barton has opened three new Barton’s Home Improvement stores in Arkansas. The company has more than 700 employees.
