Former Hogs coach Mike Anderson finds buyer for Fayetteville estate: Sam Pittman
University of Arkansas football coach Sam Pittman has a new home in Fayetteville — the home of former UA basketball coach Mike Anderson.
According to Washington County property records, Pittman and his wife Jamie paid $2.5 million for the 8,400-square-foot property on Horse Meadow Drive. The deal closed Jan. 30. The 3.84-acre property had been on the market since May 28, 2019, with a list price of $2.8 million. The purchase price equals $297.62 per square foot.
Darcheita Bennett with eXp Realty was the listing agent. Martha Haguewood with Lindsey & Associates represented the Pittmans.
The property includes a Mediterranean-style house, 1,209-square-foot guest house, five-car garage and swimming pool. It was built in 2013.
The six-bedroom home is situated in the upscale Bridgewater Estates neighborhood. Former football coaches Bobby Petrino, Bret Bielema and Chad Morris and former basketball coach John Pelphrey all lived there while coaching the Hogs. Razorback baseball coach Dave Van Horn makes his home there.
Anderson was fired last spring after coaching the basketball team for eight years. He is now the coach at St. John’s University in New York.
Pittman, who was the offensive line coach for the past four years at the University of Georgia, was announced Dec. 8 as the Razorbacks head football coach. Pittman also coached the offensive line at the UA under Bielema from 2013 to 2015.
The UA will pay Pittman $15 million over five years, according to his employment contract. Pittman will also be eligible for additional compensation through incentives. He’ll earn an extra $250,000 annually if the team wins 6 or more games, $500,000 for 7 or more wins and $750,000 for 8 or more wins. The amounts are non-cumulative.
Pittman’s new Fayetteville home is across the street from Morris’ former estate, which is the largest in the 29-lot subdivision. It includes a seven-bedroom, 11,616-square-foot main residence and a one-bedroom, 1,975-square-foot guest residence. The property includes bluestone patios, swimming pool, custom hot tub, gas fire pit, lighted sport court and infrared recessed heaters.
Morris was fired before the 2019 season ended, and put his home on the market Nov. 22. BC and Beyond LLC bought the 3-acre estate in December for $3.79 million, according to property records. BC and Beyond is registered in Texas to Denton Seilhan. The LLC also paid $995,000 in May 2018 for a residence on Northwest Fourth Street near downtown Bentonville.
According to property records, Morris paid Stuart and Melanie Scott $3.8 million for the property in May 2018, five months after he was named head football coach at UA.
