American Airlines to start nonstop service from NWA to Philadelphia

Nonstop flights from Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA) to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) will start Wednesday (Sept. 4). American Airlines will provide the flights on a 76-seat Embraer 175 jet. They will be operated by Republic Airlines.

“Everyone at XNA is excited to celebrate this new route from American Airlines,” said Andrew Branch, chief business development officer at XNA. “American Airlines has experienced tremendous growth in our market, and we appreciate their commitment to the people of Northwest Arkansas.”

The new flights will operate daily between XNA and PHL. Flights will depart from PHL at 4:50 p.m. and arrive in Northwest Arkansas at 5:55 p.m. Flights to PHL will depart from XNA at 3:55 p.m. and arrive at PHL at 6:40 p.m.

“We’re excited to welcome this new route to Northwest Arkansas, as it will contribute to the economic development in the region,” said Steven Shatsky, general manager for Envoy. “Philadelphia will open new doors to other destinations in the United States and will extend our reach to important cities in Europe. We’re proud to facilitate this flight and all the benefits it will provide for our customers and the local business community.”

American also offers nonstop service to six other destinations: Dallas, Charlotte, N.C.; LaGuardia, N.Y.; Los Angeles; Washington, D.C.; and Chicago.

By the end of 2019, XNA will have nonstop flights to 18 U.S. cities. Low-cost carrier Allegiant of Las Vegas recently announced nonstop flights from XNA to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport beginning Nov. 14.
