Jonesboro makes administrative changes
Administrative restructuring has led to two new responsibilities and title changes for Mayor Harold Perrin’s administration in 2019. Bill Reznicek, formerly chief financial officer, is now chief of staff and Trever Harvey is director of finance. In the change, two positions were eliminated: chief operations officer and chief financial officer.
Perrin said the changes best utilize the business management experience of Reznicek and the knowledge of Harvey, who has advanced through the city’s finance department since 2015. City Communications Director Bill Campbell told Talk Business & Politics the moves will save the city about $12,000 in salaries.
“We looked at a lot of management models and considered a lot of worthy candidates during this process,” Perrin said. “As we went through everything, it appeared to me that a manager of Bill Reznicek’s abilities fit the chief of staff model, and that is something I have wanted for a long time. But we also needed someone to run the finance department, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the work Trever Harvey has done in assisting our previous CFOs. He deserved to be rewarded, and these two changes make us stronger, I have no doubt.”
Harvey was finance manager in 2016-17 after serving a year as accounting tech. He is a life-long resident of Jonesboro and has an accounting degree from Arkansas State University.
As chief of staff, Reznicek manages most departments other than city police and fire departments. He has served as CFO, vice president and other executive positions in the corporate world. A native of St. Joseph, Mich., Reznicek has a bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso University and a master’s in accounting from the University of Memphis.
