YTD home sales in Northwest Arkansas essentially flat compared to 2016 data

Realtors in the two-county area combined to sell 8,276 homes through the first 10 months of 2017, essentially flat (up 0.8%) from 8,210 home sales in the January-October period of 2016.

That is according to data provided by Eric Harris, an agent with Crawford Real Estate & Associates in Lowell. The combined sales volume is up 5.78% in the same 10 months— $1.74 billion in 2016 to $1.84 billion in 2017.

Median selling prices — the middle price of the market — through October continued to climb: $192,000 in Benton County, up 6.7% from last year, and $178,000 in Washington County, up 7.9% from 2016.

In October, real estate agents sold 508 homes in Benton County, with a combined sales volume of $110.7 million. In October 2016, home sales in Benton County totaled $112.1 million (down 1.2%) on 523 units (down 2.8%).

In Washington County, residential real estate activity surged in October. Home sales totaled 296 during the month for a sales volume of $64.39 million. That’s up compared to October 2016 numbers of 241 units (up 22.8%) and a combined value of $48.2 million (up 33.4%).
