Texas-based retailer At Home Group Inc. has acquired land in Rogers to build its second location in Arkansas.

The home décor superstore, formerly known as Garden Ridge, paid $4.7 million for 20.26 acres ($5.32 per square foot) at 3551 S. 27th St., north of the Pleasant Grove Road exit on Interstate 49.

The Jerry and Janice Noland Joint Revocable Trust, Helen Lorraine Hooton Special Needs Trust and Sherrell Shaver and Anita Shaver Revocable Living Trust were the sellers.

Rogers city planners have approved construction of a 108,490-square-foot building at the site, with 382 parking spaces.

At Home offers wall art, rugs, housewares, patio furniture, home furnishings and more. The company was founded in 1979 as Garden Ridge Pottery and went public in August 2016. It has 129 stores in 31 states across the U.S., including a Little Rock location that opened in 2014.

“At Home allows customers to express their personal style with any budget by choosing from an expansive selection of more than 50,000 items — wall art and decorative accents, rugs, housewares, patio furniture, home furnishings, seasonal and holiday décor,” said Julie Flowers, the company’s public relations and communications senior manager. “Employing an everyday low pricing model, At Home is dedicated to allowing customers to affordably make their house into a home.”

While several major big-box retailers are closing stores throughout the U.S., Flowers said At Home is eager to expand into a new market.

“At Home uses a flexible site-selection model, where we own, lease and build new stores to support our growth,” she said. “That allows us to be opportunistic when sites become available.”
