Roger Thomas and his wife, Sherry Thomas, recently returned to the technology business after selling the family’s shares of regional IT provider TeleComp in July 2021, according to a news release.
The Thomas family recently launched Peak Tech Labs, a Bentonville-based information technology firm offering “inter-office technology to businesses and organizations of all sizes, with a focus on organizational AI, UCaaS (unified communications as a service, or business phone systems), software-defined networks, cloud physical security, WAN (wide area networks), Wi-Fi, and utility/energy solutions,” the release shows.
Roger is CEO and senior advisor/broker, and Sherry is chief financial officer. Both were equal shareholders in their TeleComp stake, the release shows. Roger is the co-founder and former CEO and chief business officer of TeleComp.
“The Thomas family is so excited to be back,” Roger said. “After TeleComp, we went on to sell commodity energy to businesses in Dallas and Houston. While we’re still very much in that business, we have decades of experience and success in providing inter-office IT services to Walmart suppliers and businesses throughout our state, region and nation.”
Roger said the new company has been in the works for several years, and the Thomas family invested a “minimal” amount of money into research and development.
Roger and Sherry’s son, David Thomas, has joined them in the new business, serving as director of operations at Peak Tech Labs. Before joining the company, David spent eight years in marketing at WhyteSpyder, a Walmart supplier tech and consulting startup. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2017 with a degree in advertising and public relations.
“David brings an analytical angle to our business; his research and deep understanding of the new products we support and the projects we execute has proven to be second to none,” Roger said.
Together, the Thomas family comprises the company’s three employees who run Peak Energy Choices Inc., of which Peak Tech Labs is the dba and brand. The company is looking to acquire office space in Northwest Arkansas by the end of 2026. In the coming year, it plans to hire three full-time employees and two part-time staff.
“The IT industry is our family’s proven core competency,” Roger said. “And this time around, we have a much larger bank of experience to draw on. It also means so much to have our son David joining and working the business with us.”
