Several administrative changes made in the A-State System

Arkansas State University System President Dr. Brendan Kelly announced Tuesday (July 8) several new executive roles and promotions in the ASU System Office, effective immediately.
Brad Phelps, who has served as general counsel since 2014, has been promoted to senior vice president and will remain general counsel in an expanded leadership role. Landen Crancer, who has worked as the assistant vice president for finance and administration since 2022 and chief of staff since January, will become the associate vice president for finance and administration and will continue as the chief of staff.
Vice Chancellor for Human Resources Dr. Lori Pope, has been appointed interim vice president for human resources for the ASU System. Megan Gross has been hired as the executive assistant to the president and executive secretary to the ASU System Board of Trustees.
Two employees took partial retirement. Julie Bates, executive vice president and chief financial officer, will move into a part-time role as chief financial adviser.
Pam Kail, executive assistant to the president since 1991, moves into a part-time role as special adviser to the president while continuing as secretary of the ASU System Foundation Inc. Board of Directors.
