Sales tax revenue totaled more than $67.3 million for the first seven months of reports in 2025 for Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers and Springdale, up 4.03% compared with the same period in 2024.

Three of the four cities showed monthly gains in their July reports. Bentonville was the only city to post a decline. The July report shows a cumulative $9.686 million in revenue, down from the $9.951 million reported in June.

Bentonville reported monthly revenue of $1.887 million, down 14.16% from a year ago. The city continues to have large swings in the month-to-month data, with revenue rising 34.77% in the June report and falling 72.91% in the May report. Mayor Stephanie Orman has said the wide swings are related to tax credits as the city continues to add new businesses behind its ongoing population growth.

Through the first seven reporting months of 2025, Bentonville’s sales tax revenue totals $14.672 million, up 2.02% from the year-ago period.

Rogers reported revenue of $2.749 million, up 8.24% from a year ago. That comes after gains of 11.07% reported in June and 8.91% gains in May. The year-to-date revenue reported by Rogers totals $18.146 million, up 2.93% from the same period last year.

Springdale revenue rose 5.21% year-over-year to $2.251 million. For the year, the city tax revenue totals $15.142 million, up 7.39%, the highest return among the peer cities. Springdale has added $1.042 million in revenue this year, compared to the same period in 2024.

Fayetteville, the largest city in the group, reported monthly revenue of $2.797 million, up 5.4% from the same period last year. Year to date, Fayetteville reports total revenue of $19.36 million, up 4.5% from a year ago. The city has added more than $190,300 to its coffers this year from sales tax revenue receipts.
