Ryan Hauck joined Experience Fayetteville as CEO on Monday (July 21), the tourism marketing agency announced Wednesday (July 23). He replaces Molly Rawn, who left the city’s destination marketing organization to become Fayetteville mayor.

With 51% of the vote, Rawn defeated incumbent Lioneld Jordan in a Dec. 3 runoff to become the mayor.

Before joining Experience Fayetteville, Hauck was executive director of Cody Yellowstone, the tourism organization for Park County, Wyo., known as the eastern gateway to Yellowstone National Park. He also served in leadership roles in the energy industry, entertainment and events, and the public and private sectors of tourism.

“I’m truly honored and excited to step into the role of CEO at Experience Fayetteville,” Hauck said. “This city is bursting with creativity, rich in world-class outdoor recreation, energized by a top-tier SEC university, and centered around a welcoming culture that runs deep within the community’s core values. What drew me to Fayetteville is its extraordinary potential — not just as a premier travel destination, but as an incredible example of how communities can grow thoughtfully, inclusively and sustainably. I’m eager to share Fayetteville’s story with the world and to help build on the incredible momentum already underway.”

Experience Fayetteville’s governing body, Fayetteville Advertising & Promotion Commission, selected Hauck after a nationwide search this spring.

“Ryan brings a wealth of experience in destination marketing, strategic leadership, and community collaboration,” said Elvis Moya, chair of the Advertising & Promotion Commission. “The commission was deeply impressed by his vision, energy, and professional experience. We are confident that Ryan’s leadership will elevate Fayetteville’s presence, strengthen our partnerships, and drive continued growth in tourism and economic development.”

According to the commission’s 2024 report, revenue rose by 8.47% to $6.4 million from $5.9 million in 2023. More than 80% of revenue comes from the city’s 2% hotel and restaurant tax, of which half of its receipts go to the commission. The remainder of the commission’s revenue comprises town center rent, visitor center sales, event income, banner fees and grants.

Experience Fayetteville and Chamber Fayetteville will host a welcome reception for Hauck from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 5 at Fayetteville Town Center.
