Sestina will be a modern steakhouse that will feature a wood-burning grill and offer seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. It’s one of the three food and beverage establishments at The Compton in Bentonville.
The six-story, 142-room boutique hotel The Compton in downtown Bentonville will be home to three food and beverage establishments, including steakhouse Sestina, bar The Eddy, and café Field Notes, according to a Monday (July 28) news release.
The hotel is expected to open late this fall.
Bentonville-based Ropeswing Hospitality Group will oversee the hotel’s restaurants and bars. Ropeswing exists under the Runway Group umbrella and operates multiple restaurants and bars in Bentonville, such as Preacher’s Son, Louise, Lady Slipper and Co-Op Ramen.
Runway Group is a business team based in Bentonville led by Steuart Walton and his brother, Tom Walton. They are grandsons of Walmart founder Sam Walton and the sons of Jim Walton, chairman and CEO of Arvest Bank Group Inc.
Sestina, The Eddy, and Field Notes will open in November. Ropeswing declined to provide the establishments’ investment cost, including furniture, fixtures and equipment. The establishments will have between 80 and 100 staff. Sestina will be a modern steakhouse featuring a wood-burning grill and offering seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. According to the release, its atmosphere will feel “more like a gathering at a friend’s home than a traditional dining room.”
The Eddy will be a cocktail bar perched above Bentonville Square, featuring “plush interiors, live DJ sets, city views and attentive service,” according to the release. “Inspired by Dr. Neil Compton’s legacy of exploration, The Eddy offers an unparalleled cocktail experience designed for the Bentonville adventurer.”
Field Notes will be a community café on the ground floor “that spills into the pedestrian-only Bentonville Promenade,” the release shows. It will offer handmade pastries and a custom coffee blend in the mornings, as well as wine and casual meals in the evenings.
“These three venues reflect The Compton’s vision to be part of the fabric of Bentonville — places where locals feel at home and visitors feel the energy of the city,” said Juan Solano, CEO of Ropeswing Hospitality Group. “Our goal is to create experiences that celebrate where we live, and we’re proud to bring these concepts to life in a way that feels true to this community.”
Additional announcements, including chef selections, menu information and opening events, will be released later this fall.
