Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) in Highfill has launched a parking service in partnership with Metropolis Technologies Inc., the California-based artificial intelligence company with a computer vision platform that enables checkout-free payments.
The new service includes “seamless drive-in, drive-out parking,” according to a press release. Metropolis recently installed its artificial intelligence (AI) technology at XNA parking lots.
Those who park there can download the Metropolis smartphone app to receive the new service. The app allows users to register their vehicle and payment methods.
Users can also receive features like instant notifications upon entry and exit, pricing and payment history, and digital validations and discounts at participating businesses. Travelers can reserve and pay for parking online at flyxnaparking.com. Upon arrival at the airport, they can register by scanning a QR code and manage their parking through the Metropolis app.
According to the release, XNA is the third airport to receive the new Metropolis technology, which debuted at San Antonio International Airport in November. Last year, Metropolis acquired SP Plus Corp., XNA’s parking facilities operator since January 2020.
From January to April, XNA’s enplanements, or passengers flying out, increased by 12.08% to 355,525 from 317,191 in the same period in 2024. In April, enplanements increased by 8.9% to 97,533 from 89,524 in the same month last year.
