U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins announced Friday (May 2) two presidential appointments for a key Farm Service Agency (FSA) and Rural Development (RD) state director job in Arkansas.
David Branscum was appointed as state director for Arkansas Rural Development in Arkansas. He served in this role in the first Trump administration. Most recently, Branscum was director of governmental affairs at the Arkansas Department of Education and is a third-generation cattle rancher.
Ty Davis was appointed as state executive director for the Arkansas Farm Service Agency. Davis previously was the state agriculture liaison for U.S. Sen. John Boozman, R-Ark., and is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas.
“When America’s farming communities prosper, the entire nation thrives. This new group of USDA appointees will ensure President Trump’s America First agenda is a reality in rural areas across the country. I am grateful for the leadership of these new state directors and look forward to their work reorienting the agency to put Farmers First again,” said Rollins.
FSA state directors help execute U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) policies in planning, organizing, and administering FSA programs through state offices across the country. RD state directors focus on economic development projects in rural America.
“These roles are critical to supporting Arkansas farmers, ranchers, producers and rural communities. We can be proud to have dedicated agriculture leaders like David Branscum and Ty Davis overseeing USDA programs in our state,” said Boozman, chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee. “I look forward to working with them to ensure our farm families have the tools and resources they need to continue to feed the nation and the world.”
