The Northwest Arkansas Council will host an event in April to discuss education’s role in the workforce and economic growth in the region. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 23 at Fayetteville Town Center, 15 W. Mountain St. in Fayetteville.
The event will include a panel discussion comprising Houston Davis, president of the University of Central Arkansas, Dennis Rittle, president of NorthWest Arkansas Community College, and Charles Robinson, chancellor of the University of Arkansas.
Roby Brock, editor-in-chief of Talk Business & Politics, will moderate the discussion. Nelson Peacock, president and CEO of the Northwest Arkansas Council, will introduce the panel.
According to a news release, the event will explore how colleges and universities prepare talent, drive research, and support industry needs to strengthen the regional and statewide economy. This is part of the University of Central Arkansas’ NWA Blitz, a series of events aimed at strengthening connections between UCA and Northwest Arkansas. Events information is available online at uca.edu/nwa/events.
The event hosted by the council is free and open to the public. Lunch is provided. Registration is required. The deadline to register is April 18. The council is planning for 350 attendees but hopes to sell out. The capacity is 400.
