Northwest Arkansas sales tax revenue up almost 8% in February report

The cumulative sales tax revenue for Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers, and Springdale totaled $11.18 million, up 7.91% from a year ago. Revenue reported in February relates to consumer spending on goods and services in December.
Springdale saw the largest increase with revenue totaling $2.25 million, up 9.67% from a year ago. This gain was on top of the 3.66% growth in the January report. Through the first two reporting months of 2025, the city’s sales tax revenue totaled nearly $4.46 million, up from $4.17 million a year ago, a gain of 6.74%.
Rogers had revenue of $3.12 million, up 9.03% from a year ago. The big gain came on the heels of a 10.25% growth reported last month, the best start for the city since 2022. Rogers has received almost $5.7 million in sales tax revenue this year, up from $5.2 million last year, a gain of 9.58% and slightly ahead of the 9.25% budgeted for the year. February was also the first $3 million month on record for the city.
Bentonville had revenue of $2.57 million this month, up 6.94% from a year ago. The results improved over the 1.7% growth the city reported in January. Thus far in 2025, the city’s sales tax revenue totals $4.77 million, up 4.29%.
Fayetteville, the largest of the four cities by population, had sales tax revenue growth of 6.33% to $3.13 million, marking the first time the city surpassed $3 million in a month. Through the first two reporting months of this year, Fayetteville reports total revenue of $5.97 million, up 6.29% a year ago.
