Walmart AMP still breaking records
The Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion (AMP) in Rogers posted record ticket sales and attendance this year. The AMP hosted 49 shows in the Cox Concert Series, up from 37 last year. The previous record for the series was 39 shows in 2022.
Jennifer Wilson, senior public relations director for the Walton Arts Center and the Walmart AMP, provided the numbers for the year. The Walton Arts Center owns the AMP, which has an 11,000-seat capacity.
Top-line revenue rose 11.4% to $40 million from $35.9 million last year. Ticket revenue increased by 13.2% to $18 million from $15.9 million. The number of tickets sold increased by 21.1% to 385,835 from 318,521 last year. The average ticket price rose by 11 cents to $49.87.
According to Pollstar’s third-quarter rankings of the top 100 amphitheaters globally, the AMP ranked No. 28 based on tickets sold and No. 34 based on ticket revenue.
This year, 15 shows were sellouts, or those with more than 10,000 tickets sold. A new attendance record for a show at the AMP was set by Chappell Roan, with 10,881 people. It was one of the five shows with over 10,000 people in attendance.
The others included Benson Boone, Hozier, 21 Savage and Post Malone. The most tickets sold to a show was Benson Boone, while the highest-grossing show based on ticket sales was Post Malone. Brooks & Dunn, one of the 15 sellout shows, was the highest-selling show for food and beverage.
Some of the shows set for next year include Goo Goo Dolls, Weird Al Yankovic and Papa Roach. Tickets for the shows, starting with Treaty Oak Revival on April 11, are available at amptickets.com.
