Garver designs overpass projects in Rogers
Engineering firm Garver designed two new Interstate 49 overpass projects in Rogers, valued at $21 million. Crossland Heavy Contractors was the general contractor.
Garver designed the new Uptown and Oak Street overpasses spanning I-49 in Rogers. Garver engineer Zach Moore was the project manager. Both projects include two-lane bridges for vehicles and 10-foot-wide side paths for cyclists and pedestrians.
The 232-foot-long Uptown and 226-foot-long Oak Street bridges allow for new I-49 crossings to adjacent streets. The Uptown project comprised new road construction for about 1,700 feet of Northgate Road with routes to the Razorback Greenway and Walmart AMP. The Oak Street project has about 2,700 feet of road improvements and three roundabouts, while the Uptown project has one roundabout.
Moore said Garver also completed a schematic-level sketch for a feasibility study in 2018 for a potential Garrett Road overpass project. He added that Garver is in the final design stage for the J Street interchange project in Bentonville, with construction expected to start in spring 2026.
Garver also designed the Har-Ber Avenue overpass in Springdale, which is under construction. Project manager Luke Freedle said construction is expected to be completed in summer 2025. It’s now about half complete.
