I-55 Mississippi River bridge to close over weekend for construction
According to the city of West Memphis, the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will be closing the I-55 Mississippi River Bridge this weekend to continue construction activities on the I-55 and Crump interchange.
All work is weather-dependent. The upcoming weekend closure is the fifth of eight allowed in the contract.
The times for the closures include:
- Saturday, October 26, 4:00 am through Monday, October 28, 6:00 am
- I-55 SB will be closed at Bridgeport Road in Arkansas
- I-55 NB will be closed at South Parkway in Tennessee
- Local traffic will be allowed to continue to the McLemore exit
Officials said a detour will be posted for drivers to circumvent the area, but alternative routes are suggested.
