UA, NWA Council to release annual state of region report
The Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, in collaboration with the Northwest Arkansas Council, will release the annual State of the Northwest Arkansas Region Report on Oct. 24.
Also that day, CBER Director Mervin Jebaraj will present the Quarterly Business Analysis and share economic data from the analysis.
“The program will discuss projections for the national and regional economy during a period of economic uncertainty,” he said. “As the national and state economy grows though these challenges, timely economic information is vital to good business and policy decision making.”
The State of the Northwest Arkansas Region Report will be released during the Quarterly Business Analysis Luncheon. It will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 24 at Fayetteville Town Center, 15 W. Mountain St. in Fayetteville. Networking starts at 11 a.m.
Jebaraj will be joined by Nelson Peacock, CEO of the Northwest Arkansas Council, to release the annual State of the Northwest Arkansas Region Report. The Northwest Arkansas Council will also host a panel discussion focused on the innovation economy and its important role in the region’s continued development. Panelists will be announced soon.
First published in 2011, the State of the Northwest Arkansas Region Report measures the area’s economy to peers, such as Madison, Wis.; Raleigh, N.C.; Provo-Orem, Utah; Des Moines, Iowa; and Austin, Texas.
The Quarterly Business Analysis addresses business highlights of the previous quarter, key economic trends and projections, and immediate and long-term issues facing the regional and state economy.
The deadline to register for the luncheon is Oct. 18. Registration is $50 and required. A table for 10 is $500. Link here to register or call 479-575-4151.
