Gen 4 Jets to locate operations in Newport
Gen 4 Jets, a luxury private jet charter company, will locate operations at the Newport Municipal Airport, according to the Newport Economic Development Commission. The company is expected to generate 12 new jobs during the next four years.
The company will purchase and construct a private facility adjacent to the airport and continue to expand their operations. What incentives were offered to lure the Gen 4 Jets to Newport were not immediately available. A timetable for the company to begin operations was not released.
“We understand that every journey is unique, which is why we are excited to offer personalized and flexible travel solutions tailored to meet the specific needs and preferences of our clients,” Gen 4 Jets President Garrett Lassiter said.
The Newport Municipal Airport has two 5,000-foot runways and a new terminal building. Gen 4 Jets will offer services residents in Arkansas and surrounding states. Gen 4 Jets has an extensive network of global partners and access to thousands of airports worldwide.
“One of the most important things communities can offer businesses is extra time. Having a private charter service in Newport offers businesses in the region valuable added time over commercial travel options. We are excited to bring this resource to Newport and northeast Arkansas,” said Jon Chadwell, executive director of the Newport Economic Development Commission.
The Newport Airport Commission has been working with Gen 4 Jets for several months to build a program that will allow the company and the airport to grow together, Airport Commission Chair James McLarty said.
“We are excited to see the economic growth and opportunity represented by Gen 4 Jets. As the Newport Municipal Airport continues its growth, partnerships like this one are a great addition to air travel for the entire region,” he added.
