Connections: Underwoods wins award, Washington Regional adds physician
Fayetteville-based jeweler Underwoods Fine Jewelers earned first place in the 2024 CASE Awards, the annual jewelry design competition of trade group Jewelers of America. Underwoods won the award in the retailer jewelry $2,001 to $5,000 retail value category.
The CASE awards recognize the creativity, artistry, style and excellence in jewelry from jewelers nationwide. A panel of judges evaluated all entries to determine a winner in each category. More than 120 jewelers competed in the event.
“Year after year, Jewelers of America’s CASE Awards design competition shines a spotlight on custom design and exceptional craftsmanship from Jewelers of America members nationwide,” spokeswoman Amanda Gizzi said. “Underwoods Fine Jewelers visionary design and creativity have rightfully earned them the top prize in the category in this year’s design competition.”
Underwoods won with an 18-karat yellow gold hand-forged ring featuring an 8.17-carat square checkerboard amethyst center stone that is bezel set in a compass orientation with six channel set diamonds on the shank that are all ideally cut (0.54 carats). Retail price is $4,950.
