Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) in Highfill recently added two new nonstop flights provided by Delta Air Lines. The new flights are to Detroit and Salt Lake City.

The Detroit flight will operate six times per week, excluding Sundays. The flights to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) begin Nov. 11. Departure from XNA is set for 5 p.m.
The Salt Lake City flight will operate daily. The flights to Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) will start Feb. 13. Departure from XNA is set for 5:50 p.m.

“Direct flights to DTW and SLC have been frequently requested by Northwest Arkansas residents,” XNA CEO Aaron Burkes said. “We are pleased that Delta Air Lines is offering highly desired routes that will increase connectivity to and from Northwest Arkansas. The addition of these nonstop flights will catalyze growth for both XNA and NWA.”

In July, XNA enplanements, or passengers flying out, rose to a monthly record of 108,822, up 15.9% from 93,860 in the same month in 2023. The first time XNA’s enplanements exceeded 100,000 in one month was in June, when enplanements were 108,777.

Between January and July, enplanements increased by 11.8% to 634,147 from 567,014 in the same period last year.
