Heartland Whole Health Institute hires chief medical officer

Heartland Whole Health Institute in Bentonville has hired John Findley as chief medical officer, effective June 24.

“Dr. Findley brings nearly three decades of diverse experience leading meaningful change and innovation in health care,” said Walter Harris, President and CEO of Heartland Whole Health Institute. “I am confident his thought leadership and commitment to excellence will advance our work to transform health care and deliver on our mission to bridge the gaps to better health together.”

According to a news release on Monday (June 10), Findley was most recently the president of Bryan Health Connect in Lincoln, Neb. Prior to holding several executive roles, he worked as a practicing medical provider for 15 years in western Colorado.

“I am thrilled to join the talented and passionate team at Heartland Whole Health Institute,” Findley said. “Together, we will redesign and develop a delivery system that better serves patients across the Heartland, ultimately changing the trajectory of health care for future generations. I look forward to collaborating with partners across the Heartland and beyond to make swift and measurable progress.”

Founded in 2019 by billionaire philanthropist Alice Walton, the institute and its sister organization, Alice L. Walton School of Medicine, are under construction near Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville. The 75,000-square-foot building will include office space and community gathering areas.
