Encore Building Products of Springdale sells to Builders FirstSource

Texas-based Builders FirstSource has completed a deal to acquire Encore Building Products of Springdale. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Encore supplies professional contractors and multi-family builders, primarily in Northwest Arkansas. Joe and Monica Frame and Brent Hanby started the business in 2011. The company has 115 employees and is the region’s largest building materials supplier. Encore operates a retail showroom at 3905 S. Thompson St. and a lumber yard and hardware store at 1106 N. Old Missouri Road.

“Joe, Monica and I viewed Builders FirstSource as the best long-term partner for our business and the best long-term home and growth opportunity for our customers and personnel,” Hanby said.  “We are excited for Encore to be part of Builders FirstSource going forward.”

Builders FirstSource was formed in 1998 and is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange (BLDR). The company has more than 550 distribution and manufacturing locations in 42 states.

Builders FirstSource is the nation’s largest supplier of structural building products, value-added components and services to the professional market for new residential construction, repair and remodeling.

Anchor Peabody, a Florida-based investment bank with a niche focus on the lumber and building material industry, represented Encore in the deal.
