Fayetteville attorney opens law office

Longtime Fayetteville attorney Shannon Fant has opened a law firm in the city. Fant Law Firm PLLC is at 217 East Ave.

“After more than 20 years defending insurance companies and their insureds, I’ve seen legitimate claims sometimes be severely compromised or denied outright,” Fant said in a news release announcing the new business. “Many times, those who have suffered personal or property damage do not understand how the law can help them. I want to use the knowledge I’ve gained for good — to help individuals and companies by providing honest assessments of their claims.”

Fant graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1997. He worked for the past 24 years at Bassett Law Firm. He was a partner for 19 years.

He advised on risk assessment and management of claims and defended clients through trial and appellate levels of litigation.

“The sense of accomplishment I feel after a claim or lawsuit is completed to a client’s satisfaction is what I like most about being a lawyer,” he said. “Knowing I helped them reach that end is fulfilling and something I take great pride in.”
