Total Document Solutions Inc. (TDSiT) of Lowell, an IT imaging company, has acquired office IT and print services provider Business World Inc. (BWI) of Little Rock.

Total Document Solutions Inc. (TDSiT) of Lowell, an IT imaging company, has acquired office IT and print services provider Business World Inc. (BWI) of Little Rock. Financial terms were not disclosed.

TDSiT retained 12 of BWI’s staff, including founder Jerry Carlisle’s eldest son, Stephen Carlisle, as the acting president of BWI.

Jerry Carlisle, who started the business in 1977, died earlier this year at 72. Stephen Carlisle, who joined the company in 2002, succeeded his father as CEO in 2017.

According to a news release, TDSiT owner Tim Stanley and Jerry Carlisle had a personal friendship and shared core values, leading to the acquisition.

Before his passing, Jerry Carlisle handpicked Stanley as BWI’s buyer because he did not want the company to be acquired by a venture capital firm or competitor.

“This is such a privilege for us,” Stanley said. “We’re very honored to be working with such an impressive team and to equip them with more sophisticated IT tools with which they can continue serving customers. Our intention with this acquisition is to add services, products, and expertise to everything that’s already working for BWI customers.”

TDSiT, which manages print and document management services, offers software and IT services and has a dedicated Tier 1 help desk, is an authorized Xerox dealer and service provider. The company has 37 employees between both locations.
