The Auria test is a first-of-its kind breast health assessment that's expected to help women decide when to have a screening mammogram. Namida Lab in Fayetteville recently released the test that's available for purchase online at auria.care.

Fayetteville-based Namida Lab recently won gold at the 2023 Edison Awards for the at-home breast health test Auria.

According to a news release, Auria was named the winner in the Health, Medical & Biotech Intelligent Diagnostics category at the 36th annual Edison Awards event in Fort Myers, Fla. Omid Moghadam, founder and CEO of Namida Lab and Dr. Anna Daily, chief scientific officer at Namida Lab and Auria inventor, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

“We are honored to be recognized for innovation that addresses a significant healthcare challenge for women,” Moghadam said. “This award is an important milestone in our path to develop affordable, effective and accessible cancer screening tools.”

The Edison Awards, named after American inventor Thomas Alva Edison, honors excellence in new product and service development, marketing, design and innovation. This year, the awards featured more than 3,000 senior business executives and academics from fields such as product development, design, engineering, science, marketing and education and past winners on the independent judging panel.

In 2022, Namida Lab released the breast health assessment that uses teardrops to identify protein biomarkers related to breast abnormalities. The Auria test helps women decide when to have a mammogram. Auria customers receive a score and classification which corresponds to a level of urgency on when to schedule a mammogram. The $159 test is available online at auria.care and at Amazon and Walmart.
