Arvest Bank announced the hiring Wednesday (March 29) of a new chief compliance officer for broker-dealer Arvest Wealth Management (AWM). Kendra Cain started the job on March 20. Her predecessor, Tom Harps, retired after 17 years with the company.

Headquartered in Lowell, AWM is the wealth management division owned by the Walton family-owned Arvest Bank of Fayetteville. AWM offers wealth management, trust services and insurance products.

“Tom’s accomplishments during his extraordinary career spanning 37 years in the industry cannot be measured,” AWM President and CEO Asa Cottrell said in a statement. “We are grateful for his dedication to his role, our associates and our company, and we wish him well as he embarks on the next chapter.”

Cain’s office is in Jacksonville. According to a news release, she has over 20 years of industry experience, previously working as chief compliance officer in wealth management for a regional bank in Louisiana. She is responsible for the general oversight and support of the AWM investments and insurance compliance program and team across the company’s four-state footprint of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.

“Kendra’s extensive experience managing compliance programs at large financial institutions will be an invaluable asset to our company,” Cottrell said. “We are excited to add her knowledge and expertise to the Arvest Wealth Management team as we continue to grow and navigate the changing regulatory landscape.”

Cain received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She earned the Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional (CRCP) designation through the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania.
