Fayetteville-based Signature Bank of Arkansas has promoted Kim Whedbee to president of its mortgage division.

According to a news release Thursday (Jan. 26), her predecessor, Christine Morrison, has retired from the mortgage industry but not from Signature Bank. She has accepted a new role within the human resources department.

“We’re excited for Kim to take over as our new president of the Mortgage Department,” said Tammie Neal, the bank’s chief human resources officer. “We’re always thrilled when we can promote from within. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position, having served in many of the roles she will now oversee.”

Whedbee has worked for the bank since 2014. She’d previously been a mortgage underwriter and a mortgage lender. She’s worked for multiple banks in her 26-year career.

“I’m excited about implementing new and exciting ideas in our department, strengthening our current relationships, and building new ones,” Whedbee said. “I hope to build upon the momentum established by our great leadership from the past, while moving forward into the ever-evolving mortgage industry.”

According to the most recent data available from the FDIC, Signature Bank had $934.7 million in assets and nine locations throughout Arkansas.
