Walmart AMP breaks records; revenue, ticket sales rise

Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion (AMP) in Rogers reported ticket revenue increased by 71% to $14.2 million this year from $8.3 million last year. In 2019, revenue was $7.7 million.

Jennifer Wilson, public relations director for the AMP, said it had the highest-attended show with the highest food and beverage sales in venue history this year. Morgan Wallen was the headliner for this show.

Also, the AMP, which has an 11,000-seat capacity, hosted the most shows in a season to date, with 39 shows in the Cox Concert Series in 2022. That’s up from 27 last year and 31 in 2019.

Ticket sales rose to 275,000 this year from 191,302 last year. In 2019, sales were 232,475. Average ticket prices have increased from $38.74 in 2019 to $43.40 last year and $53.53 this year. The venue had no touring shows in 2020.

The number of sellout shows, or those with more than 10,000 tickets sold, rose by one to eight this year from last year. Including the Wallen sellout other headliners with sellouts included Backstreet Boys, Jimmy Buffett, The Chicks, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town, Chris Stapleton and Koe Wetzel.

Next year, some of the announced headliners include Tyler Childers on April 22, Matchbox Twenty on June 23 and Foreigner on July 14.
